On Saturday 31st July in Worcester Cathedral, Gibbs 2nd Symphony ‘Odysseus’ was the major work to be performed on the final day of the Three Choirs Festival.
Adrian Partington conducted the Philharmonia Orchestra and the Festival Chorus, with the soloists, Ruby Hughes and Njabulo Madlala
giving a magnificent and highly professional sounding performance.
The audience showed their appreciation at how well the Chorus had tackled learning this complex and little-known work, especially throughout the lockdowns due to the Pandemic. It was a triumph!
